This is our final episode in our 7-part series titled Dealing with Desire. Today Tory will wrap up with a recap of where we have been, and then take a deeper look at purifying the heart. Here is Tory Bjorklund, President of TRC Ministries, teaching part 7 of Dealing with Desire.  

Dealing with Desire Part 6

Matthew 6:21 says, “Where your treasure is there your heart will be also.” And as Tory talks about in today’s message, what we treasure is the direct result of the ideas that we hold.  Today Tory challenges us to ask the Lord to show us ideas that we have adopted that are contrary to Him and what He wants us to desire.  Once we take inventory of what ideas we are holding onto, then we can start the process of renewing the mind--removing destructive images and ideas and replacing them with the mind of Christ. Today is part 5 in our series Dealing with Desire.   What we think about things shapes our overarching belief system and how we live. The ideas we hold to that become the fabric of what we believe and act on are often internalized without us even assessing them carefully. Today Tory Bjorklund, President of TRC Ministries, continues his teaching on Dealing with Desire, taking a look at what ideas are, and how images play a role in delivering ideas to us.  

Dealing with Desire Part 4

Renewing our mind is part of living by faith, and something God calls us to in dealing with desire.  As believers we have the Spirit of Christ indwelling us. That does not mean that we automatically are freed from evil desires. But it does mean that we are freed to be able to allow God to work in us and transform our desires.  Here is Tory Bjorklund, President of TRC Ministries, teaching on the process of renewing the mind in part 4 of our series Dealing with Desire.  

Dealing with Desire Part 3

Today we continue our series Dealing with Desire.  There is a natural progression to dealing with desire and having real transformation.  Oftentimes we focus first on our physical body, what we should or shouldn’t do, and then get discouraged and frustrated when we don’t get lasting transformation. But this is the last step. We need to start with setting our hearts and minds on Christ. We can’t make ourselves do what is right unless our hearts are purified. We won’t have purified hearts until we renew our minds and let God reorient us to what is good. And in order to renew our minds, we first need a heart of submission to God.  Here is Tory Bjorklund, President of TRC Ministries, continuing his teaching in part 3 of Dealing With Desire.

Today we are back with part 2 of our series Dealing with Desire. As believers we are connected to the source that is life, Jesus Christ. And we have the resources to deal with desire appropriately. But the time to strategize and act comes before we are being tempted and in the middle of a situation. Co-Missional Church Part 9

In Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus is establishing a group with authority and ability to carry out a task, and in the process of doing that they will be acting as His agent. They will be working in cooperation with Him and using His resources. This is the church of Jesus Christ.  

We have spent 8 sessions on a journey learning about what Tory calls the Co-Missional church. What is the Church? What is the purpose and function of the church? How does the church operate? And what habitat is necessary for it to grow?

Today, Tory Bjorklund, president of TRC Ministries, wraps up Co-Missional Church by giving a review and then starting a little brainstorming into practical action points that might help the church grow in love and unity, fostering the type of community necessary to achieve intentional obedience to the teachings of Christ. And this obedience is the desired outcome for the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
